Types of Air Handling Unit:

Draw- through Units- : Draw through is a type of  AHU which can either be horizontal or vertical. Before the air enters the ducting network, it is pulled through the mixing box, cooling coil, and filters by a fan. These units could be limited to a coil, blower and air filter. The other name of the Draw through unit is fresh air handling unit.

Blow- through Units- : Before the air enters the ducting network, the blow- through air handling unit’s fan forces the  air through the mixing box, cooling coil and filters.

Single Zone and Multi Zone Units- : Single Zone requires an outdoor and indoor unit with a line st, cable and drain line. But for dual duct systems,  a multi zone  AHU is more frequently employed.

Rooftop and Indoor Units- : These units are specific AHU made for outside usage. They resist corrosion and are typically positioned on the roof. However,  the majority of Air Handling Units are indoor units.

Custom-built and Field-built Units -: Standard Units are less expensive and can be delivered more quickly. Custom- built units can be customized to be the most energy- efficient alternative and offer greater versatility.

 Purpose of an Air Handling Unit
